Bizpend is a SaaS fintech product that helps businesses manage their financial operations from one platform. I worked as the product designer across key areas of the product, including invoicing, expense management, approvals, and financial visibility.
My role involved shaping user flows, defining product structure, and working closely with engineering to ensure the product was both usable and technically sound.
Bizpend set out to bring together invoicing, expense management, approvals, payroll, and payments into a single product for businesses. While similar tools existed across the market, most focused on only one or two of these modules, leaving teams to rely on multiple disconnected systems.
The challenge was designing a product that could combine these functions into a unified experience without becoming complex, confusing, or difficult to scale.

I analyzed how similar fintech tools handled onboarding, core actions, and user retention, looking for friction points that caused drop-off or confusion. This helped identify where Bizpend could simplify flows and guide users toward successful first outcomes.
User journeys and user flows were designed to lead businesses quickly to value: such as creating their first invoice, submitting an expense, or receiving a payment: reducing time-to-activation.
I defind user types alongside permissions. The users fell into 3 types: The owner (Overseas all operations and has alll privileges in the permissions settings), The manager (Can be assigned to manage payroll, approve invoices, salary disbursment based on the permission set by the owner) and The user (Hse little permission to perform simple actions like create invoices, request for leave with the Manager approval in sight)
I also worked closely with engineering to ensure design decisions aligned with technical constraints while still supporting experimentation, iteration, and future feature expansion.

The product enabled businesses to manage more of their financial operations from a single interface, reducing reliance on multiple tools and manual processes.
By designing for clarity, activation, and scalability, Bizpend was positioned to support growing teams as their financial complexity increased, helping drive long-term engagement with the platform.
